Cork Airport have issued the below statement. Due to air traffic restrictions being experienced throughout Europe, Cork Airport is now closed to all air traffic until further notice. Given that the situation is fluid, intending passengers are advised to contact their airline in relation to schedule details before making the journey to Cork Airport.

Final surveys are in progress today in Swansea.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus have announced plans for increased services from Cork airport.

Aer Lingus plan to operate eight new routes from Cork for its summer schedule with new services to Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, La Rochelle, London Gatwick and Tenerife.

Ryanair new Cork routes are to Alicante, Barcelona (Reu), Bordeaux, Faro, Lanzarote and La Rochelle.

The 2010 Ocean to City race from Crosshaven to Lapps Quay Cork will take place on Saturday the 05th June 2010. 

The race itself is 15 miles and travels up one of the best natural harbours in the world.
